Write Here, Write Now: Your Storytelling Project

Do you have an idea for a writing project that you’d like to develop further? Are you working on something and need motivation to keep you going? Join me for a four-week course where you’ll work on your project with other like-minded people. Learn how to edit your work and the work of others, and take your project to the next level. Bring something to write on and write with. Some writing materials will be provided. I'll teach in English but you can write in whatever language(s) you feel most comfortable expressing yourself in. I'll account for different languages when we workshop. This series is designed as a full course. It's strongly suggested that you attend all classes so you can get the most out of it. - Adults, people who are writing pieces and have a project they’d like to work on, people who’d like support staying motivated to get a good amount of writing done.
- What should I bring?
- Participants should bring something to write with and write on. No prior knowledge needed but they’re required to have a writing project or an idea for one they’d like to work on during the course. A writing project can be fiction or non-fiction. For example, a short story/stories, memoir, poems, a novel-in-progress, a script, a piece for performance or something else story-based — whatever you’d like to work on over four weeks.

About the artist
Todd is a Sāmoan programme manager, writer, and creative writing teacher from Aotearoa New Zealand. For the past 15 years, he has developed and delivered programmes, events, and services across Aotearoa, Australia, Siamani (Germany), and online. These include programmes with a focus on writing and literature, job skills, digital literacy, fine arts, crafts, and science. He completed a Masters of Creative Writing at the University of Auckland in 2016. His work has appeared in the Academy of New Zealand Literature, Aotearoa New Zealand Review of Books, The Three Lamps literary journal, first page journal, Dread zine and at ZK/U.

Sliding scale
We use a sliding scale to make courses as affordable as possible. Here’s how to use it: Lower end: You don’t have a stable income. Mid range: You have a less stable financial situation and are more selective about where you spend your money. Higher end: You experience relative financial stability. Solidarity spot: You’re experiencing financial precarity and wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford to come to a workshop.
