Sketching & Handbuilding Creatures and Spirits from Nature
Shape clay guardians inspired by local urban nature.

In this clay workshop we’ll take time to observe the nature that inhabits 90mil and shape clay guardians to honour the beings that live in this area of Berlin. Everyone is welcome. Create a guardian or totem for the local urban nature from sketch to hand-building techniques; explore the forms of seeds and connect with the life that inhabits 90mil with brief exploration and observation of the environment.

- All welcome. An interest in nature and character creation is a perfect match for this workshop.
- What should I bring?
- Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, or bring an apron or an extra shirt to protect your clothes. No experience needed. You are encouraged to bring your sketchbook if you have one.

About the artist
I’m Dot, illustrator and ceramicist. My ceramic practice began over ten years ago in Mexico City, where I learned and created at Taller Mono Rojo, which has been a fundamental influence on my approach to clay. Alongside ceramics I have a strong background in illustration, animation and visual narratives. I moved to Berlin in 2023, where I continue working as an artist and guiding workshops, supporting others in developing their own style and guiding them in developing a sensory connection to engage with clay through movement, intuition, and touch.

We use a sliding scale to make courses as affordable as possible. Here’s how to use it: Lower end: You don’t have a stable income.
