Ableton Live is a sonic playground that music producers of every level can all shape to our creative needs and desires. Over the course of 4 weeks, we will explore some music production concepts and approaches including: Synthesis theory and practice, using Ableton for live performance, using hardware MIDI controllers & external equipment, creative approaches to audio effects, what is mixing and how to mix your tracks amongst other areas. We highly encourage a space for skill sharing between participants which will include some collaborative creative exercises. We believe that hands-on experimentation, play, collaboration, and guidance in a supportive, inclusive learning environment is the best model for learning and discovering. This workshop is for Beginner to Intermediate level Ableton users who have some existing experience and confidence with the software but are looking to develop some new creative approaches to music production and performance and wanting to gain some new tools that can come in handy when feeling blocked or uninspired at times. - A laptop with Ableton 10, 11 or 12 is essential for this workshop. The trial version is available for free for 30 days. Please also bring headphones & laptop charger.

About the artist
Slow Moon is the solo project of Tomáš Kašpar; a London-based musician and sound artist who explores space, texture and duration within ambient structures. Tomáš uses Ableton onstage and in the studio and has been exploring and falling in love with its creative possibilities for the last 10 years. He teaches Performance Technology and Studio Practice at Goldsmiths, University of London and is involved in numerous community music projects. Yule Post is a multidisciplinary artist based in Berlin. Her work moves ungoverned across different mediums - connecting music, performing and fine arts with her practice and training in product design and sculpture. Yule is constantly exploring and working on her own productions - searching for new sounds and people to work together with; currently focusing on voice improvisation and her current duo project.
